Baroque pearls don't match. Indeed, that is the nature of the thing — each one grows differently, and no two share the same shape or tone. So when two grey baroque pearls arrived with the same iridescence, the same quiet glow, I kept them together. As a result, this macramé bracelet built around two baroque grey pearls is what came out of it.

Two Baroque Grey Pearls, One Fixed Light

Grey freshwater pearls carry a colour that shifts. Depending on the light, they read as blue, silver, or faintly violet. Still, the baroque grey pearls in this macramé bracelet share that quality. So they mirror each other without being identical. Between them, a small white topaz spinning top holds them apart just enough — understated, it simply marks the midpoint.

The Macramé Bracelet That Disappears

The grey metallic satin cord sits close to the skin — yet it stays out of the way by design. The pearls carry everything. A sliding knot also adjusts this macramé bracelet to any wrist size, without a clasp. Two small white freshwater pearls finish the cord ends. In the end, you forget you're wearing it.

• Two baroque freshwater pearls, grey, 12–14mm, AA+ quality
• White topaz spinning top
• Grey metallic satin cord, hand-knotted
• Two small white freshwater pearls at cord ends
