Stella by JLL Pearl

The star charm had been sitting in a box for two years. Oxidized silver, set with small champagne diamonds — not brilliant, more like a dull gleam. I knew it needed something soft beside it. A baroque freshwater pearl, slightly off-round, turned out to be the answer.

When Darkness Meets Pearl

Champagne diamonds read differently from white diamonds. They carry warmth, almost an amber undertone, which is why they sit naturally against oxidized silver rather than bright metal. The baroque pearl, approximately 8mm, brings its own irregularity to the pairing — its surface moves in the light where the star stays fixed. The two-tone satin cord, black and grey, holds the piece together without drawing attention to itself.

Made to Wear

Stella sits close to the wrist and adjusts with a sliding knot until the fit feels right. Two small freshwater pearls finish the cord ends. It is a considered piece, but it disappears onto the wrist with ease — which is exactly what I was after.

Stella arrives in its JLL Pearl pouch with a certificate of authenticity. Because I work with natural pearls, no two pieces are identical.
