Lalibella by JLL Pearl

This silver star had been sitting aside for a while — oxidised, set with small champagne diamonds, not yet matched. Three rows of round freshwater pearls seemed like the right pairing. Not baroque this time, just small and even, 5 mm, hand-knotted onto grey satin cord in a macramé weave. The result is the three-strand pearl bracelet I had been picturing without knowing it.

The triple strand gives Lalibella its presence on the wrist — not heavy, but substantial. I knotted each row separately, then brought them together at the star. The grey cord was a deliberate choice. Because it reads as neutral on any skin tone, it holds the structure without competing with the pearls.

The Star and the Cord

Champagne diamonds read differently from white diamonds. They carry warmth, which is why they work with oxidised silver rather than polished metal. The sliding knot adjusts Lalibella to any wrist without a clasp. Together, two small freshwater pearls at the cord ends close the knot and keep everything in place.
